You can also pay in-house AVCs to provide additional Life Cover. Your LGPS membership already gives you cover of approximately 3 times your annual pay if you die in service, but you can increase this cover to provide additional benefits for your dependants in the event of your death in service by paying towards an in-house AVC life cover plan. This will be subject to satisfactory completion of a medical questionnaire.
Clerical Medical have a set of tables according to age and gender, and any quotation will be based on these. The payments will remain the same during the life of the policy.
If you leave the Gwynedd Pension Fund, the payments and liability to Clerical Medical will cease.
