Welcome to the deferred members section of the Gwynedd Pension Fund website.
This area of the website is designed to provide information for members who have left the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) before they reach Normal Retirement Age and consequently became entitled to a deferred benefit.
A deferred benefit is a pension benefit that is calculated at the date of leaving but payment is deferred until you decide to retire.
Having left the LGPS with a deferred benefit you can decide whether to:
- Retain your pension within the Gwynedd Pension Fund until retirement, where it will be increased each year in line with the cost of living.
- Transfer your deferred pension to a new provider, such as your new employer’s scheme or to a personal pension plan.
- Combine your previous membership with your new membership (if you are re-joining the LGPS).
These options are expanded on within the links below, along with details covering all aspects of your membership and benefits.
